SUNDAY REPORTS
This report includes all the important deactivations and lineup changes. Why guess who will be playing like the other services do by using television and website reports? Get the word directly from the teams! While the other services charge you for information they receive from the newspaper and television, we're getting our information right from the teams. Why settle for anything less?

Also released on Sunday is our exclusive free agents to pick up report which is updated again on Tuesday and once more if needed on Satuday. We usually post a deep list of players to pick up early Sunday evening in order for those who have early waiver deadlines to get a quick start on the competition.

11:30 am est -  For the Broncos, our sources with the team tell us that starting RB Clinton Portis (sternum-questionable) will not play today. Starting FB Mike Anderson will start at RB for Portis with rookie RB Quentin Griffith also seeing time at the position. Also starting S Kenoy Kennedy (ankle-questionable) will sit out and backup S Nick Ferguson will start in his place.

Some selected notes from last night's report before our updates start at 11:30 am est today:

- For the Bills, starting RB Travis Henry (questionable-ribs) is a game-time decision. Backup RB Joe Burns will start if he can't play.

- For the Bengals, RB Corey Dillon (groin-probable) practiced on Friday and is expected to start.

- For the Browns, QB Tim Couch starts for QB Kelly Holcomb (ankle).

- Rookie QB Byron Leftwich is expected to start for QB Mark Brunell (doubtful-elbow).

- For the Vikings, WR Randy Moss (back-probable) is expected to start. As we reported exclusively last night, unless starting QB Daunte
Culpepper (back-questionable) makes a dramatic change, they're leaning towards starting backup QB Gus Frerotte. We'll update you at least an hour before the game about who will start at QB for the club.

- For the Rams, RB Marshall Faulk (knee/hand) is out. Backup RB Lamar Gordon gets the start.

- For the Broncos, RB Clinton Portis (chest-questionable) remains a game-time decision. Starting FB Mike Anderson would get the start if Portis is ruled out. Although the game is later today, we'll do our best to get an update before the early games start.

- For the Colts, starting RB Edgerrin James (back-questionable) remains a game-time decision though he didn't practice at all this week. Backup RBs Ricky Williams and James Mungro would be expected to fill in first if he can't play.

Free Agent Wire For Week Four and Beyond

QB

1)  *Patrick Ramsey/Washington – Ramsey is still available in some leagues and is really on fire. He has plenty of talent around him and he’s becoming a QB you'll want to start most weeks.

2) Jay Fiedler/Miami - ADDED 9/23: He's been on here every week so far and he'll continue to be as he's still available in a lot of leagues. Fiedler is a decent option as your starter depending on the matchup and certainly is worth picking up as a bye week or injury replacement for the rest of the season if needed.

3) Brad Johnson/Tampa Bay Johnson is not pretty but he somehow will get you 200 yards and a few scores in most games. He's looking at least like a solid backup or even a starter given the matchup.

4) Quincy Carter/Dallas - ADDED 9/27: With three good WRs to work with, Carter is looking better than expected and is a good bet to throw for over 200 yards almost every game.

5) Jake Delhomme/Carolina - ADDED 9/23: If you are in a bind this week, he has a good matchup against Atlanta so he's worth a look if you are desperate.

6) Vinny Testaverde/New York Jets - ADDED 9/27: They have to throw more than they planned because they can't run the ball effectively. Testaverde should be good for a score and over 200 yards a game.

7) *Byron Leftwich/Jacksonville - It's only a matter of time before Leftwich is given the starting job. However, his greatest value is long-term as the Jaguars’ current crop of receivers may be the worst in the league.

RB

1) Lamar Gordon/St. Louis - With starting RB Marshall Faulk suffering a broken left hand, Gordon could be the beneficiary of a lot of playing time in the coming weeks. We will know more in the next 24 hours.

UPDATE 9/23: He'll be the starter for a minimum of the next three games but likely more than that and he has some good matchups coming up. We'd pick him up as our third back but he could perform much better than that.

2) Moe Williams/Minnesota - Williams continues to grind out yards and has been productive every week. If for some strange reason he’s still available in your league, pick him up immediately, as he can be more than just a backup for you.

3) *Ladell Betts/Washington - He may not be the starting back but he's been very productive so far and gets lots of touches. Betts will provide solid depth or can even be used as an injury replacement/spot starter if needed.

4) Michael Pittman/Tampa Bay - Pittman finally had a big game and at the very least is going to put up decent combined yards in most games. He'll also provide depth for most fantasy owners.

5) Mike Alstott/Tampa Bay -  Alstott is certainly going to get some goal line carries when those situations arise. We'd also pick him up to provide some depth to our roster.

6) Kevin Faulk/New England - He won't score much but Faulk will give you decent combined yardage in most games. If you get one point per catch, you might want to start Faulk as your third or fourth back.

7) Shawn Bryson/Detroit - He finally showed something although his overall numbers weren't anything special. We'd pick Bryson up as a fifth back and watch his progress.

8) Jerome Bettis/Pittsburgh - If you are in a TD-only league, Bettis is worth a look because he should get a decent amount of goal line carries the rest of the way.

9) Mike Anderson/Denver - ADDED 9/27: If you have Clinton Portis, pick him up as insurance or pick him up to trade him to the Portis owner.

10) James Mungro/Indianapolis - ADDED 9/27: If you have Edgerrin James, pick him up for insurance or pick him up to deal to the James owner. He's good around the goalline.

11) Joe Burns/Buffalo - ADDED 9/27: If you have Travis Henry, pick him up for insurance or trade him to the Henry owner.

WR

1) *Andre Johnson/HoustonJohnson has really taken over as starting QB David Carr's go-to receiver. Although the Houston passing game is still shaky, we’d pick up Johnson as a #3 WR.

2) *Anquan Boldin/Arizona – Boldin is the team’s lone bright spot on offense as he continues to produce every week. We can't see the Cards not starting Boldin every week at this point so we’d pick him up as a #3 WR.

3) Ike Hilliard/New York Giants - With starting WR Amani Toomer getting a lot of double-teams, Hilliard is getting single coverage and starting QB Kerry Collins is really looking for him. We'd pick him up as a #3 or #4 WR.

4) Peter Warrick/Cincinnati - ADDED 9/23: He's another player we've had here every week and is still available on a lot of leagues. He'll get you at least decent yardage every game and probably score five to six more times and is a solid option as your third or fourth receiver most weeks.

5) Kevin Johnson/Cleveland - With starting WR Quincy Morgan struggling, Johnson stepped up his play and had a huge game at the 49ers. We'd pick him up as one of our backups but he does have some upside as their offense is bound to improve.

6) Antonio Bryant/Dallas - ADDED 9/23: Even though he's splitting time with veteran WR Terry Glenn, Bryant is going to see a lot of passes coming his way in most games and is a solid backup WR.

7) Wayne Chrebet/New York Jets - One thing is noticeable, when QB Vinny Testaverde needs a WR to make a big catch, he looks to Chrebet. Chrebet is looking like a decent option as a #4 or #5 WR.

8) Reggie Wayne/Indianapolis – Wayne had done very little thus far into his career up until today's game. With starting WR Marvin Harrison commanding so much attention, Wayne could be more of a factor as starting QB Peyton Manning looked to him often. We'd pick him up as a #4 or #5 WR and watch his progress.

9) Justin McCareins/Tennessee - ADDED 9/27: He continues to get open every week and the team is very high on him. He should score 4-5 more times because of good matchups against nickel CBs.

10) Drew Bennett/Tennessee - He did next to nothing in the first two games but was able to have a breakout game against an injured secondary. We don't expect much consistency from Bennett but he's worth a look as a #5 WR.

11) David Terrell/Chicago - ADDED 9/23: As we mentioned in this space in the past, it's only a matter of time before he gets the #2 job over Dez White and once he does, he'll be a solid backup WR for fantasy owners.

12) Darnerian McCants/Washington - He doesn't catch many balls but when they get near the redzone area, McCants becomes a factor. Not a bad option as a fifth receiver.

13) Kelly Campbell/Minnesota - ADDED 9/27: He's going to start again and because he's a deep threat at any time, he could put up a few more good games. Consistency is an issue though.

Team Defense

1) Kansas City - Color us convinced that the Chief defense is one to be reckoned with. We would pick them as a starter as they are recording a lot sacks and turnovers every game.

2) Seattle - They continue to force turnovers every game and we would pick them up to be a starter.

3) Minnesota - The Vikings are not a bad bye week replacement if you need depth as they're recording a decent amount of turnovers.

Defensive Lineman

1) Shaun Ellis/New York Jets - He's been on this list since week one and is still probably available in a lot of leagues. Ellis is off to an excellent start and could be headed for a career season and we would pick him up as a starter.

2) Aaron Schobel/Buffalo - His first two games were subpar but he is coming off of a huge effort with nine combined tackles (five solo) and a sack. Schobel is worth picking up as a second of third DL.

3) Willie Whitehead/New Orleans - ADDED 9/27: He'll get in at least five more starts for Darren Howard and he's a good pass rusher and decent sacker.

Linebackers

1) David Thornton/OLB/Indianapolis - He was on our sleeper list this and started off bad in week one but his last two weeks have been stellar including last week's performance (10 combined tackles, eight solo, and a sack). He's looking like a solid #2 LB the rest of the way.

2) Akin Ayodele/OLB/Jacksonville - He's been on fire so far including last week (11 combined tackles-six solo) and with the Jaguar offense really struggling, Ayodele will be on the field a long time in most games. He's also looking like a solid #2 LB the rest of the way.

3) Nick Barnett/MLB/Green Bay - He's off to a great start thus far including last week (nine solos) and is another LB who is looking like a solid #2 the rest of the way.

Defensive Backs

1) Jerome Woods/Kansas City - He was a solid starting fantasy DB before he broke his leg last year and now that he's back, he'll put up good tackle numbers in most games like he did last week (eight combined tackles, six solo).

2) Brian Russell/Minnesota - He has an interception in every game so far and is a decent tackler. Decent third fantasy DB most likely.

Post Game Injury Report Week Three

While we'll have further updates and more definitive word on Monday in our next update, here’s a preliminary look at the injuries from Sunday.

NFC North

Detroit - KR/PR Eddie Drummond leads the Lions’ walking wounded from their Sunday loss to Minnesota. He was carted off the field after his right leg buckled on a kickoff return when he was tackled by two Vikings after Minnesota had taken a 23-13 third-quarter lead.

"When I went out there he was saying that it was below his knee, but right now it seems like more of a high ankle sprain," head coach Steve Mariucci said. "Those things sometimes can take some time. We'll see how he feels in the morning."

Like Mariucci, Drummond was much more worried when the injury initially occurred, but after the game said his leg was already feeling better.

“Basically my right foot got stuck in the ground and I got flipped over and my leg was bent up,” said Drummond. “I don’t think it’s the bone or anything is broken. I felt the pain and told the guys not to touch it.  Initially, with the pain I thought I might be out for the whole year but now I feel fine.”

Starting CB Andre Goodman was also lost in the contest, with a dislocated shoulder early in the third-quarter, as was backup WR Shawn Jefferson, with bruised ribs.

"Andre Goodman, on that hit on the flat that caused an incomplete pass, dislocated his shoulder," Mariucci said. "What I understand is that he had that (injury) in college and had surgery. He has been playing with a surgical (surgically repaired) shoulder for a year or two now. We had Shawn Jefferson come out with some ribs," Mariucci said. "He will be day to day. He was pretty sore on the sidelines and he was unable to return.

Starting QB Joey Harrington never left the game, but he finished it with his index and middle fingers on the throwing (right) hand taped together after hitting starting C Dominic Raiola’s helmet after throwing a pass.

“I was throwing and I hit a guy’s helmet -- that stuff happens,” said Harrington. “You pop it back in, tape it up, ice it down a little bit and see if you can throw.  They did a good job of getting it reset and taping me up. Maybe I should dislocate it more often. I had a better second half. I assume it will be pretty swollen and sore tomorrow (Monday) but I don’t anticipate missing any time.”

Green Bay
- Starting WR Robert Ferguson re-injured his sprained knee during today's loss at the Cardinals and he'll be re-evaluated on Monday.

Minnesota - Starting QB Daunte Culpepper left Sunday’s win at Detroit in the second-quarter with a bruised back, and didn’t return. Backup QB Gus Frerotte came in and helped hold off the Lions, but Culpepper said after the game he expects to play next Sunday vs. San Francisco, and felt good enough to joke about his injury.

“Do I look hurt?'' Culpepper asked before limping onto the team bus outside Ford Field after the game. “I thought I looked cool, like Fred Sanford.''

Culpepper said he simply was in too much pain to continue in the game.  He was injured after rushing for his second touchdown of the game when LB backup LB Wali Rainer hit him in the end zone.

“I guess it's part of the game, but I thought he could've pulled up when he saw I was in the end zone,” said Culpepper of the hit by Rainer.

“(Daunte) Culpepper has a back issue, he got hit late after the touchdown in the end zone and came up a little hobbled, and was not able to go back into the game,” said head coach Mike Tice. “The original X-rays were negative, but we’ll run some more tests tomorrow (Monday) on that back. Of course if he’s out this week, we’ll go with Gus (Frerotte).”

Among the other injured Vikings were backups DT Bill Lyon (strained calf) and LB Nick Rogers (back). Neither finished the game, but Lyon probably could have and will be listed day-to-day.

“Billy Lyon hurt his calf. Nick Rogers bruised his (glute), and so he wasn’t able to finish the game and he’ll be day-to-day,” said Tice. “And he has severe back problems through the season, started in the off-season—they come and go, but he really came on strong today and hobbled his way through for the most part of the game. He battled his way through it.”

NFC South

Atlanta
- Starting S Cory Hall (cramps) left today's loss to the Buccaneers in the third quarter and didn't return. Other injured players included: starting OLB Sam Rogers (knee), starting DT Ed Jasper (back/ankle), backup S Gerald McBurrows (neck), and starting ILB Chris Draft (foot).

NFC West

Arizona - The club won their first game this season over the Packers but a few key players were injured. Starting DT Wendell Bryant (ankle), starting S Dexter Jackson (thigh), and backup WR Jason McAddley (hamstring) were all injured and will be re-evaluated on Monday.

San Francisco - The club lost a close game at home to the Browns and a few key players were injured but not seriously. Starters QB Jeff Garcia (groin) and DE Andre Carter (back) and backup DB Jimmy Williams (concussion) are all considered probable for next week's game.

St. Louis - Starting RB Marshall Faulk suffered what was believed to be a broken left hand during Sunday's loss to the Seahawks early in the third quarter. However, head coach Mike Martz couldn't confirm the injury exactly after the game.

"I don't know the extent of Marshall's injury. I know they don't have an X-ray machine here or it's broken. We think it might be a broken hand. We'll have to get back to St. Louis and find out."

Faulk's status will be updated by the club tomorrow. Backup RB Lamar Gordon replaced Faulk after he got hurt.

Backup TE Dan Curley suffered a calf injury in pre-game warmups.

AFC East

New England
- Starting DT Ted Washington suffered a broken leg during Sunday's win over the Jets. Starting WR David Patten (leg) was also injured during the game. Their status will be known tomorrow.

Starting CB Ty Law (ankle) was injured late in the first half but returned to the game.

AFC North

Cincinnati - Starting RB Corey Dillon sat out the last three quarters of Sunday’s loss to Pittsburgh with a groin injury and his status is day-to-day. He finished the game with only seven carries for 26 yards, the lowest total for him since last season’s season-opener when he managed only 10 yards in nine carries. Backup RB Brandon Bennett replaced Dillon and wasn’t very productive – with only 12 yards on six carries.

The only other injury of note from Sunday’s loss was to TE Matt Schobel, who left the game due to a hamstring (left) injury, and didn’t return.

Starting WR Chad Johnson did not start, but entered the game after three plays, due to unspecified disciplinary reasons.

Pittsburgh - Starting
RB Amos Zereoue wasn’t injured, but left the game for what he thought would be a brief breather late in the third-quarter in Sunday’s win at the Bengals. Backup RB Jerome Bettis took over from there, running six straight plays for 23 yards and a 13-3 lead.  The two combined for 128 yards on 32 carries, and Zereoue didn’t mind watching from the sideline with Bettis being so productive.

“When Jerome gets going, it’s pretty hard to stop him,” said Zereoue. “I thought, hey, he’s getting it done. Coach (Bill) Cowher and I both decided to let him go.” On the injury front, the only player who left the game was backup CB Chidi Iwuoma, who didn’t return in the second half after sustaining a concussion.

AFC South

Houston
- Starting QB David Carr injured his right calf during today's loss to the Chiefs but was pulled from the game because it was out of reach for them to come back.

“That’s why we took him out. That’s really the first time I took David out of a football game since I’ve been here. I did it because I thought the game was out of reach and I thought it would be foolish to take a chance on getting David injured," head coach Dom Capers said.

Indianapolis - Backup OT Adam Meadows and starting OT Ryan Diem (ankle) were injured during today's win over the Jaguars. They'll be re-evaluated on Monday.

AFC West

San Diego
- Starters CB Sammy Davis (concussion), G Solomon Page (ankle), and OT Vaughn Parker (knee) were injured during today's loss to the Ravens and they'll be re-evaluated on Monday.
